Haruo Ishida
Professor Emeritus, University of Tsukuba
Graduated at the Department of Civil Engineering, Tokyo University in 1974. After graduating from the graduate school of the same university, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Civil Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology, and then as a lecturer at the Department of Social Engineering, University of Tsukuba. Since then, he has worked as an assistant professor, professor, head of the Department of Social Engineering, and special assistant to the president, before retiring in 2017. At the same time, he became a professor emeritus.
He is also a member of the Digital Agency Mobility WG; Chairman of the Road Subcommittee of the Council for Social Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism; Chairman of the Hokkaido Development Subcommittee of the National Land Council Member of the National Land Council; Expert Member of the National Comprehensive Development Study Group for Digital Lifelines, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Expert Member of The Smart Mobility Challenge Promotion Council, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism; Representative Director of the Scenic Byway Community Japan; Director of the National Institute for Land and Infrastructure Management.
